Refund policy

Last updated 23 August 2026 · applies to every entry and session paid on Matchup

Matchup collects entry fees and session fees on behalf of clubs. The club sets the price and runs the play; we hold the money until the play has happened. This page says what happens when it doesn't.

When you get all of it back

If a club cancels an event or a session, every entry is refunded in full and our fee is waived. You do not have to ask. If a club abandons an event part-way, the organizer proposes a split and the refund is reviewed by us before it goes out.

When you cancel

Withdraw more than 72 hours before the first match and you get a full refund. Inside 72 hours, the club decides, because the courts are already booked and the draw may already be built. Their answer and their reason both appear on your entry.

Waitlists

Joining a waitlist authorises the fee but does not take it. If a place opens, the money is taken and you are told. If the event closes with you still waiting, the hold is released automatically.

How long it takes

Refunds go back to the way you paid. UPI is usually same-day; cards take five to seven working days, which is the bank's timetable, not ours.

Disagreeing

Every refund decision has a reason attached and a "this isn't right" link. That link reaches a person at Matchup, not the club.
